The Chatelain family have been growing vines on the slopes around Pouilly-sur-Loire since 1630, and were among the first producers in the area to export their wines.

The thirty hectares of vines are spread over six of the seven communes in Pouilly-Fume, and the vineyards are run by the twelfth generation of vignerons at Domaine Chatelain.
